Brisbane (Australia): Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh held a series of high-level meetings in Australia aimed at strengthening cooperation in education, sports infrastructure, and sustainable aquaculture.
At a roundtable on education reforms hosted by the Queensland Trade & Investment Centre, Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of education transformation in India. The state is introducing AI-based curriculum from the high school level, setting up AI, STEM, and robotics labs, and planning to establish a dedicated AI University. He said Andhra Pradesh is preparing its youth to seize opportunities from the AI revolution, with technology being integrated into education, healthcare, and governance for better public service delivery.
In another meeting with Prof. Kyall Zenger of the Centre for Sustainable Tropical Fisheries and Aquaculture, James Cook University, Lokesh sought cooperation in advancing aquaculture genetics research to improve productivity and disease resistance in black tiger prawns and barramundi species. He proposed collaboration in AI-based aquaculture monitoring, water recycling, and feed optimization, and invited CSTFA experts to train Andhra Pradesh’s aquaculture farmers in modern, sustainable farming practices.
Lokesh also met representatives of Populous, the global architecture firm behind iconic venues like London Olympic Stadium, SoFi Stadium, and Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. He invited the firm to support Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of transforming Andhra Pradesh into a sports hub by designing state-of-the-art stadiums, training centers, and community sports complexes that meet global environmental and energy-efficiency standards.
Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh is building an integrated ecosystem — from education to sports and aquaculture — rooted in innovation, sustainability, and global partnerships.
