Dubai: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a series of meetings with leading UAE industrialists as part of his three-day visit to the Emirates, inviting them to invest in key sectors including shipbuilding, logistics, and healthcare.
Naidu met Mr. Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan, Chairman of the Transworld Group, a global leader in shipping and logistics, and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, a major Abu Dhabi-based healthcare group. Both expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
During his meeting with Transworld Group, Naidu highlighted the state’s long coastline and port-led development strategy, with major ports coming up at Mulapeta, Ramayapatnam, and Machilipatnam. He invited the group to set up a shipbuilding unit at Dugarajapatnam, explaining that the state is developing an integrated network of ports, airports, and rail connectivity to boost logistics efficiency and reduce transport costs. The Transworld Group responded positively, expressing interest in participating in Andhra Pradesh’s shipbuilding and maritime infrastructure projects.
In his meeting with Burjeel Holdings, Naidu invited the healthcare group to invest in advanced medical and research facilities in the state. The company expressed readiness to establish a special cancer centre in Tirupati, leveraging its expertise in healthcare, research, and medical education. The delegation informed the Chief Minister that Burjeel operates the largest cancer hospital in Abu Dhabi and is keen to bring its healthcare excellence to India.
Naidu briefed the Burjeel team on Andhra Pradesh’s evolving preventive–curative healthcare model, and the ongoing digital health card project, which is being implemented as a pilot.
Ministers B.C. Janardhan Reddy and T.G. Bharat, along with senior officials from the Industries Department and the Economic Development Board (EDB), were present at the meetings.
Naidu said Andhra Pradesh, under his leadership, is creating a policy-driven, investor-friendly ecosystem and urged UAE businesses to participate in the state’s transformational growth story.
