New Delhi / Amaravati: Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has lauded Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his government for bringing in Google’s landmark $15 billion investment to set up India’s largest AI data centre hub in Visakhapatnam.

In a post on X, Kant described the investment as a game-changer for India’s digital economy and credited Naidu’s leadership for attracting marquee global investments.

“With Google’s historic $15B investment to build India’s largest AI data centre hub in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu has demonstrated his great ability to attract marquee investments,” Kant wrote.

“This can be the beginning of a new wave of attracting global hyperscalers and data centres that will provide enormous computing power and storage capacity to organisations worldwide. The future of India’s digital economy will be dependent on its ability to attract cutting-edge technologies — high-performing compute, CPUs and GPUs, hardware, and networking connectivity. Congrats @naralokesh. Brilliant work!” he added.

Responding to the post, Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh thanked Kant for the appreciation and credited teamwork for the achievement.

“Sir, appreciate the kind words! Big initiatives like this aren’t solo acts — tremendous credit to the entire AP government team, the central government for unwavering support, and above all, our leader @ncbn’s leadership that’s turning bold ideas into billion-dollar realities,” Lokesh replied on X.

The Google AI data centre in Visakhapatnam, estimated at ₹1.25 lakh crore, marks the largest single foreign direct investment (FDI) in Andhra Pradesh’s history. The facility will position Vizag as a global data hub and anchor India’s growing artificial intelligence and cloud computing ecosystem.

Industry experts view the project as a major boost to India’s digital infrastructure ambitions, with Andhra Pradesh emerging as a key destination for high-tech and AI-driven investments.
