₹3,800 crore investments to create 30,000 jobs as global firms line up in Andhra Pradesh’s tech hub

Visakhapatnam: A day ahead of the CII Partnership Summit, Visakhapatnam turned into a festival of technology as Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT, Electronics, and Education Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stones for five major IT projects in a single day, signaling the city’s rapid rise as a global digital destination.

The five projects, with a total investment of ₹3,800 crore, are expected to generate around 30,000 direct jobs. The foundation ceremonies drew large participation from industrialists, professionals, and local residents, who turned up to cheer what Lokesh described as “the beginning of Visakhapatnam’s transformation into the next big tech hub of India.”

Following Google’s announcement of its AI Data Hub in the city — the largest foreign direct investment in India’s digital sector — several top IT firms including TCS and Cognizant have already partnered with the state. The latest entrants — Sails Software Solutions, iSpace Software, Phenom People Pvt Ltd, K. Raheja Corp, and the Kapil Group’s World Trade Center — are now joining the city’s expanding tech ecosystem.

₹3,800 Crore Investment, 30,000 Jobs

Sails Software Solutions launched work on its AI Excellence and Innovation Center at Madhurawada IT Hill-2 with an investment of ₹21 crore. Managing Director & CEO Kiran said the centre will create 430 jobs and focus on advanced AI and cloud-based enterprise solutions aligned with the Digital Andhra Pradesh and India AI Mission.

iSpace Software Solutions also began construction of its Visakhapatnam unit at IT Hill-2, with a planned investment of ₹119.18 crore over three phases, creating 2,000 jobs. CEO Ramesh said the company will deliver product development, IT services, and offshore solutions from the new facility.

Phenom People Pvt Ltd, a global HR-tech leader, launched its Global Development Centre at IT Hill-2, with ₹207.5 crore investment to generate 2,500 jobs. Co-founder Hari Bayireddy said the centre will focus on product innovation, AI research, and customer delivery excellence.

At IT Hill-3, K. Raheja Corp laid the foundation for a mixed-use IT and commercial development project, involving a ₹2,172 crore investment that will create 15,000 jobs. Company President Ravi C. Raheja said the project will include IT parks, data centres, GCC (Global Capability Centre) spaces, and luxury residential towers.

Finally, at Yendada, Kapil Group’s BVM Energy and Residency Pvt Ltd started work on the World Trade Center, a ₹1,250 crore project to provide 15,000 jobs. Kapil Group Chairman Vaman Rao said the centre will integrate IT/ITeS office spaces, innovation hubs, and commercial complexes to attract global investors and foster high-value employment.

‘Visakhapatnam is the New Growth Capital of India’

Speaking after the ceremonies, Lokesh said Visakhapatnam is witnessing an “IT revolution” that reflects Andhra Pradesh’s focus on speed, stability, and investor trust. “The world’s largest tech players are now looking at Visakhapatnam as their preferred destination. With projects like these, we are turning that vision into reality,” he said.

Lokesh thanked industry leaders and the local community for their enthusiastic participation, adding that Andhra Pradesh’s ‘Speed of Doing Business’ model has made it India’s most attractive state for investors.

The events were attended by MP Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao (Avanthi Srinivas), TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao, MLAs Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Loka Madhavi, APIIC Chairman Manthena Rama Raju, and senior government officials.

With back-to-back investments in AI, data, and advanced IT infrastructure, Visakhapatnam is now firmly positioning itself as India’s next Silicon Coast.
