Hero Future Energies to Invest ₹15,000 Crore in Renewable Power Projects

Visakhapatnam: In a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy ambitions, Hero Future Energies (HFE) has signed an agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to invest ₹15,000 crore for setting up 4 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects across the Anantapur, Kadapa, and Kurnool districts.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at a meeting held on Thursday in Visakhapatnam. Hero Future Energies Chairman and Managing Director Rahul Munjal met the Chief Minister to discuss the company’s investment roadmap and long-term commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s green transition.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Hero Future Energies and the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) aims to accelerate the deployment of large-scale solar and hybrid renewable projects, reinforcing the state’s position as one of India’s fastest-growing clean energy hubs.

Chief Minister Naidu assured full government support to the company, promising policy stability, fast-track clearances, and infrastructure facilitation. “Andhra Pradesh is emerging as a leader in India’s green energy revolution,” Naidu said, inviting Hero Future Energies to also explore opportunities in green hydrogen and hybrid energy solutions.

The Chief Minister proposed the establishment of a dedicated Green Hydrogen Park in the state and urged the company to collaborate in its development, citing Andhra Pradesh’s vast renewable potential and industrial ecosystem.

Rahul Munjal expressed appreciation for the state’s proactive governance and focus on sustainable development, describing Andhra Pradesh as “one of the most promising destinations for renewable energy investments in India.”

The partnership aligns with the state’s broader goal of developing 160 GW of green energy capacity by 2047, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a national leader in clean energy generation and green manufacturing.
