Visakhapatnam: In another major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth, Sweden-based Jool Group has announced plans to set up a state-of-the-art furniture manufacturing plant near Ramayapatnam Port with an investment of ₹300 crore.

Jool Group Founder and CEO Tom Olander met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday and briefed him on the company’s proposal. The Swedish firm plans to import premium-grade timber from Norway and Sweden to manufacture doors, windows, and prefabricated homes at the new facility.

Tom Olander told the Chief Minister that Jool Group’s facility would adopt advanced European manufacturing technology and focus on producing sustainable, high-quality furniture and modular housing components.

Responding to the proposal, Chief Minister Naidu suggested the creation of a dedicated 500-acre Furniture Cluster City near Ramayapatnam Port to encourage allied industries and exports. He said the port’s proximity provides a major logistics advantage for international trade.

Naidu added that Andhra Pradesh offers “vast potential” for furniture manufacturing, not only around Ramayapatnam but also in Amaravati and other upcoming industrial zones, where infrastructure and skilled manpower are readily available.
