Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh took a major step toward becoming a national leader in quantum technology on Saturday, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announcing a strategic collaboration aimed at training more than 50,000 learners across the state in cutting-edge quantum skills.

Speaking during the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, Naidu said the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSDC) has partnered with the Washington Institute for STEM, Entrepreneurship & Research (WISER), Qubitech Smart Solutions, and QKrishi Quantum to build a robust quantum technology talent pipeline.

“This initiative will benefit students, researchers and industry professionals by offering global-standard quantum training, access to virtual labs, and direct career opportunities,” Naidu said. The programme will support AP’s goal of preparing a future-ready workforce capable of contributing to breakthroughs in quantum computing, communication and advanced technologies.

The collaboration also bolsters the development of the Amaravati Quantum Valley, which the state is positioning as a global talent and innovation hub. Naidu said the Quantum Valley would play a critical role in shaping AP’s aspirations in deep-tech, high-performance computing and next-generation research.

With this initiative, Andhra Pradesh becomes one of the first Indian states to build a large-scale quantum skilling ecosystem aligned with international standards.
