Kadapa: YSR Kadapa district has clinched the No. 1 position nationally in the NITI Aayog Aspirational Districts rankings, scoring 73.6 percent, a remarkable achievement attributed to continuous monitoring, strategic planning and proactive leadership. d state agencies, saw Kadapa outshine all other contenders across the country. The rankings reflect composite improvements in key development areas including health, education, agriculture, infrastructure and financial inclusion.
District Collector Dr. Sridhar Cherukuri received special commendation from senior NITI Aayog officials for the administration’s efforts in driving innovative initiatives such as StartUp Kadapa, enhanced anganwadi services, organic marketing and public health infrastructure—measures credited with boosting socio-economic indicators in the region.
Earlier in 2025, Kadapa also received a prestigious NITI Aayog award with a cash prize for excellence in economic empowerment and financial inclusion under the Aspirational Districts Programme, further underlining its developmental progress
