Andhra Pradesh Eyes Stronger Korea Ties as Nara Lokesh Plans July Visit

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the visit of IT, Electronics and Education Minister Nara Lokesh to the Republic of Korea from July 5 to 11 as part of efforts to deepen economic, technology and investment partnerships between the state and South Korea.

During the week-long visit, Lokesh is scheduled to hold meetings with senior officials of various South Korean ministries and government agencies to explore opportunities for collaboration in key sectors, including technology, electronics manufacturing, innovation, skilling and industrial development.

The visit is aimed at strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s engagement with South Korea, one of Asia’s leading technology and manufacturing economies, and attracting greater investment into the state.

Officials said the discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in areas aligned with Andhra Pradesh’s growth priorities, including electronics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and skill development.

The tour comes at a time when the Andhra Pradesh government is actively pursuing global partnerships to support its investment promotion strategy and accelerate industrial growth. Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state has intensified its outreach to international investors and technology companies as part of its broader economic development agenda.

Significantly, the entire cost of the visit will be borne by the Government of the Republic of Korea, reflecting the importance attached by South Korea to strengthening ties with Andhra Pradesh.

The visit is expected to pave the way for new collaborations and investment opportunities while reinforcing the growing relationship between Andhra Pradesh and South Korea across technology, industry and innovation sectors.
