From Our Correspondent

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to lay the foundation stone for Hero MotoCorp’s state-of-the-art Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Sri City on July 1.

The highly anticipated project represents a massive ₹750 crore investment by the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, significantly accelerating Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become India’s leading automobile and manufacturing hub.

This project follows Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing facility at Sri City, whose foundation stone was laid in 2018.

A Major Boost to AP’s Automobile Ecosystem

The new facility will operate as a critical global supply chain nexus for Hero MotoCorp, streamlining the distribution of genuine components worldwide. Officials close to the development note that this project reinforces the state’s strategic “automobile corridor,” which stretches from the industrial zones of Tirupati and Chittoor directly to the Krishnapatnam port in Nellore.

The setup of Hero MotoCorp’s new Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Sri City is projected to generate over 12,000 new jobs in the region.

Employment Breakdown

Core Operational Roles: The highly automated logistics hub will employ hundreds of skilled technical personnel directly. These roles will include automation engineers, warehouse management systems (WMS) operators, inventory planners, and quality assurance inspectors.

Vendor & Supplier Network: The bulk of the 12,000+ jobs will come from the sprawling network of globally benchmarked secondary vendors, packaging units, component suppliers, and ancillary industries setting up bases around the hub to feed into the global parts supply chain.

Indirect Employment: Local youth will benefit significantly from service-oriented jobs, including regional logistics, freight handling, security, and specialized transport corridors stretching to the nearest ports.

Apprenticeship Drives: The facility has already triggered aggressive local recruitment campaigns, with local hubs hosting walk-in recruitment drives for production trainees, apprentices, and technical diploma holders to build out the facility’s day-one operational workforce
