Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved fresh investment proposals worth ₹1.14 lakh crore from various companies, expected to generate employment for about 67,000 people across the state.
The approvals were granted during the 11th meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The SIPB cleared proposals spanning IT, tourism, aerospace, food processing, and energy sectors, in addition to approving certain modifications sought by companies that had already signed agreements with the state.
Speaking after the meeting, Chief Minister Naidu said that the government’s consistent efforts to attract investments over the past 15 months were bearing fruit, with a strong revival in investor confidence.
“So far, the SIPB has approved ₹7.07 lakh crore worth of projects across 11 meetings, with the potential to create employment for over 6.2 lakh people,” Naidu said.
He directed officials to appoint special officers to monitor the grounding of major projects and ensure timely implementation. The Chief Minister also stressed the need to supply power at competitive rates to further boost the state’s IT sector.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s growing role in the technology landscape, Naidu said the establishment of Raiden Infotech and Google’s data centre projects would transform Visakhapatnam into an AI-driven technology hub.
