Visakhapatnam: Global investment giant Brookfield Asset Management has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to invest up to USD 12 billion (₹1.1 lakh crore) across a range of sectors including clean energy, infrastructure, logistics, and data centres.

Announcing the partnership, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the investment will mark a transformational chapter in the state’s industrial growth. “Pleased to share that the Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed an MoU with Brookfield for investments of up to USD 12 billion in our State. This includes a clean energy powered 3 GW data centre and additional clean-energy projects across the state,” the Chief Minister posted on X.

It may be recalled that IT Minister Nara Lokesh earlier announced the impending investment by Brookfield Asset Management in the state.

The agreement envisages the establishment of a 3 GW data centre powered entirely by renewable energy, making it one of the largest of its kind globally. Brookfield will also explore solar module manufacturing, green molecule production, and renewable supply chain ecosystems, strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s position as India’s emerging green investment hub.

In addition to clean energy and manufacturing, the global firm plans to evaluate opportunities in hospitality, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), commercial real estate, ports, mobility, logistics hubs, and industrial townships — sectors that align closely with Andhra Pradesh’s focus on integrated, sustainable development.

Expressing confidence in the state’s governance model, Naidu assured Brookfield of “the speed of doing business needed to turn their vision into reality,” underlining his administration’s commitment to ease of doing business, fast-track clearances, and policy-driven facilitation.

The partnership comes amid Andhra Pradesh’s ongoing investment momentum following the CII Partnership Summit 2025, where the state attracted record-breaking MoUs worth nearly ₹12 lakh crore. With Brookfield’s entry, Andhra Pradesh is set to emerge as a key player in green energy, digital infrastructure, and next-generation industrial growth.
