Amaravati — In a bold claim today, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said his administration has helped generate 4,71,574 jobs over the past 15 months, spanning both government and private sectors.
Presenting the numbers in the State Assembly, Naidu broke down the figure:
-
15,941 posts filled under the Mega DSC (District Selection Committee) effort
-
9,093 jobs in various government departments
-
6,100 in the police force
-
92,149 roles secured via skill-development programmes and job fairs
-
And 3,48,891 jobs in the private sector, spread across fields such as IT, tourism, MSMEs, renewable energy, and food processing
Naidu said this announcement is part of the government’s push toward its “One Family – One Entrepreneur” vision, and stressed that more detailed data — including names of employees, their roles, and locations — will be uploaded on a public portal for transparency.
The timing and scale of the announcement suggest the government is responding to criticisms over job creation and fulfilling electoral promises. Whether these numbers will stand up to independent verification is likely to become a key point of scrutiny from opposition parties and media.
