Minister Nara Lokesh Inaugurates ‘Vasantham-2025’ Handloom Exhibition in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh inaugurated the ‘Vasantham-2025’ Handloom Exhibition organized by the Craft Council of Andhra Pradesh (CCAP) at Sri Sheshasai Kalyana Vedika on MG Road, Vijayawada, on Sunday.

The two-day annual event aims to promote traditional handloom and handicraft products from across India. Over 70 stalls have been set up, showcasing a wide range of handwoven fabrics, natural-dye textiles, and handcrafted items produced by artisans and weavers from various states.

Minister Lokesh toured the exhibition, interacted with artisans, and appreciated their craftsmanship. On the occasion, he also unveiled a new eco-friendly handloom brand, ‘Kotturu Vasanta Varna’, which uses natural dyes and sustainable weaving techniques.

Speaking at the event, Lokesh emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting India’s handloom heritage while ensuring better market access and livelihoods for artisans.

The event was attended by Craft Council of India Secretary S. Ranjana, executive members Sujata, Saubhagya Lakshmi, Padma, and Shailaja, along with several artisans and handloom enthusiasts.
