Stone laid for MSK Prasad International Cricket Academy at Amaravati

From Our Correspondent

Amaravati: The foundation stone has been laid for the academy at Pitchukalapalem in the Amaravati region of Andhra Pradesh. The project is being promoted by former Indian cricketer and selector M. S. K. Prasad.

Key project elements:

  • The site spans 12 acres of land in the Amaravati capital region.

  • The campus will include a high-performance indoor cricket training centre, fitted with advanced nets and performance-analysis systems, designed to accommodate around 400 trainees.

  • An international residential school is planned, combining academic and sports training for up to 1,000 students.

  • Supporting infrastructure: player hostels and accommodation, a mini-cricket stadium for local/state tournaments, gymnasium, physiotherapy & rehabilitation centre, indoor & outdoor training zones, and even an Olympic-standard swimming pool.

  • The land allocation has been approved by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP CRDA) for the campus.

The academy will be part of the region’s larger sports infrastructure push, dovetailing with the state government’s ambitions to make Amaravati a sports hub. While the promotional and planning details are public, full disclosures on budget, construction timeline, phase-wise rollout, and detailed governance/operational model (state-run vs PPP vs private) are yet to be published.
