Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh received a major investment boost on Friday as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a series of big-ticket commitments from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), following his meeting with P.M.S. Prasad, Executive Director and Board Member of RIL, and PVL Madhava Rao, Mentor–South, RIL at the CII Partnership Summit here.

According to the Chief Minister, Reliance will establish a 1 GW Artificial Intelligence Data Centre in Andhra Pradesh — a fully modular, future-ready facility designed to host the world’s most advanced GPUs, TPUs, and AI processors. It will operate in sync with the company’s gigawatt-scale AI Data Centre in Jamnagar, creating one of Asia’s most powerful AI infrastructure networks.

To ensure sustainable power for this energy-intensive facility, Reliance will also build a 6 GWp solar power project in the state. The Chief Minister said the project would double Andhra Pradesh’s existing ground-mounted solar capacity and contribute more than 30% of the state’s renewable energy output, marking a decisive step toward the state’s clean-energy ambitions.

In another major announcement, Reliance will set up a Greenfield Integrated Food Park in Rayalaseema, a fully automated, globally benchmarked facility aimed at transforming agricultural value chains in the region. The project is expected to generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs, while creating long-term income opportunities for thousands of families involved in allied sectors.

Calling the announcements “landmark” for Andhra Pradesh, Naidu thanked Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani for what he described as a significant step in the state’s journey toward innovation, renewable energy leadership, and inclusive economic growth.
