Amaravati: In a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s electronics manufacturing sector ahead of the Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, global electronics firm Syrma SGS has announced a ₹1,595-crore investment to set up India’s largest multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing unit near Naidupeta, Tirupati.

Industries Minister Nara Lokesh, announcing the development on social media platform X, said the project would create 2,170 high-skill jobs for local youth and represents “not just an investment, but a vote of confidence in our people.”

Lokesh said the project reflects the state government’s focus on transforming “Speed of Doing Business” into tangible action. “We offer ready, tailor-made solutions for land, water, and power so industries can move fast. With abundant skilled talent and proximity to ports, Andhra Pradesh is the first choice for advanced manufacturing,” he stated.

Syrma SGS Managing Director J. S. Gujral praised the state’s efficiency, saying, “We needed speed, we chose Andhra Pradesh.” His remark, Lokesh noted, underscores the state’s commitment to fast-tracking industrial approvals and infrastructure support.

The investment is expected to significantly strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in high-end PCB fabrication — a key component in automotive, telecom, and consumer electronics sectors. It will also help reduce India’s annual electronics import bill, currently estimated at nearly $70 billion, by promoting domestic production and backward integration in the supply chain.

“This is a proud milestone for our state and our people,” Lokesh said, adding that the project exemplifies Andhra Pradesh’s drive to attract high-value, technology-intensive industries.

The announcement comes as part of a broader promotional campaign for the Partnership Summit 2025, where Andhra Pradesh aims to showcase itself as India’s most competitive investment destination, blending world-class infrastructure with swift project execution.
