During the meeting, Lokesh invited Bupa to explore the establishment of a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Visakhapatnam, highlighting the city’s rapid growth as an IT and data centre hub. He also suggested that Bupa collaborate with the Andhra Pradesh government in strengthening rural digital healthcare delivery systems through technology-driven initiatives.

Bupa COO Bijal Chegpal shared that the London-headquartered multinational currently serves 38 million customers across 190 countries, offering health insurance, digital health services, and elderly care homes in the UK, Australia, and Spain. She said the company has a strong presence across Australia, Hong Kong, and other emerging markets, and expressed appreciation for Andhra Pradesh’s investment-friendly ecosystem.

Chegpal assured the minister that Bupa would evaluate Andhra Pradesh’s proposal positively, with a senior team set to review the feasibility of establishing the GCC in Visakhapatnam and explore further collaboration opportunities.
