Step 1: Program and Track Selection

Before initiating an application, founders must map their product development timeline to the correct operational tier on the RTIH Programs Platform:

  • Explore to Idea (SPARK Track): Intended for conceptual stages. Evaluated via local bootcamps or direct walk-ins over 1 to 2 days. 
  • Ideation to Prototype (Future Founders Program): A structured 6-week technical program meant to convert a validated idea into a tangible minimum viable product. 
  • Prototype to Commercialization: A 4-to-6 month phase built for startups with a functioning Proof of Concept (POC). 
  • Commercialization to Establishment (Catalyst Program): A high-growth 3-to-4 month accelerator focus designed for revenue-ready or active MVP ventures. 

Step 2: Digital Registration and Form Submission

Applicants must visit the official portal at rtih.co.in to complete their formal filing. If applying as a physical walk-in at a regional spoke, founders are still directed to fill out the standard layout: 

  1. Navigate to the active incubation cohort, challenge, or hackathon landing segment (such as the RTIH Industrial Innovation Portal).
  2. Click “Apply Now” to register basic user and credential login criteria.
  3. Complete the core application parameters:
    • Founder & Team Profile: Individual expertise and tech capabilities.
    • Operational Bottleneck Statement: Clear documentation of the technical or real-world problem being solved.
    • Evidence of Stage: Attachments of high-fidelity concept designs, software repository links, or existing MVP user validation metrics.

Step 3: Eligibility Pre-Screening & Technical Validation

Once submitted online, internal teams verify compliance: 

  • Baseline Compliance Verification: Applications are assessed for core alignment with priority sectors like Automation, AI/ML, SaaS, and DeepTech.
  • Initial Feasibility Filtering: In-house analysts review the fundamental technical logic, novelty, and regional execution capability. 

Step 4: Shortlist Interview Assessment

Based on the chosen track, founders pass through a dedicated interview gate: 

  • For Pre-Incubation / Prototyping: Candidates participate in a telephonic screening interview to defend the scalability and execution logic of the idea. 
  • For Core Incubation / Catalyst Acceleration: Founders receive an invitation for a detailed pitch session (conducted in-person or virtually) before a review panel. This pitch covers the underlying financial plan, defensibility of technology, market sizing, and investment readiness. 

Step 5: Cohort Selection and Onboarding

Following successful pitch evaluations, the hub issues final acceptance notifications: 

  • Onboarding Execution: Selected ventures sign cohort participation parameters and formalize IP or incubation logistics.
  • Resource Allocation: Access is unlocked to the 50,000-sq-ft central hub or assigned regional spoke networks, which includes free foundational mentorship, ecosystem events, and structured connections to corporate investment matrices.
