Jammalamadugu (Kadapa): Highlighting the extensive economic transformation awaiting the region, Andhra Pradesh Industries and Commerce Secretary Dr. N. Yuvaraj, IAS, declared that the newly launched JSW Rayalaseema Steel Plant is set to become a massive anchor for downstream manufacturing and localized employment. Speaking at the official project commencement ceremony, the senior bureaucrat outlined a high-velocity development model aimed at rapidly upskilling local youth to capture immediate industrial opportunities.
Unlocking Rayalaseema’s Complete Potential
Addressing the public gathering, Dr. Yuvaraj emphasized that the Jammalamadugu region possesses a unique combination of infrastructural advantages that made it the ideal choice for JSW Group’s massive capital deployment.
“This area holds immense economic potential,” Dr. Yuvaraj stated. “We have ensured robust water availability and excellent existing road connectivity. To augment this further, the state is actively planning dedicated railway sidings directly serving the industrial zone. Combined with a custom solar energy captive array and an additional 1,500 acres of contiguous land available nearby, we have created a frictionless environment for heavy manufacturing.”
Focus on Downstream Clusters and Fast-Track Execution
The Industries Secretary explicitly requested JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal to look beyond primary steel production and focus heavily on developing the surrounding ecosystem. By setting up a comprehensive network of downstream and ancillary industries, the state intends to maximize localized wealth creation.
Dr. Yuvaraj confirmed that the administrative machinery is moving with unprecedented urgency. “We are requesting the JSW leadership to operate in a ‘very fast mode’ to execute these structures,” he added. “The employment generation will not be a distant reality—thousands of local jobs will start rolling out immediately during the active construction phase itself.”
40,000 Jobs Expected from Vizianagaram Industrial Park Rollout
In a major parallel announcement, Dr. Yuvaraj revealed that the state’s industrial push extends significantly into North Andhra. Concurrent with the Kadapa foundations, the administration virtually launched the JSW Industrial Park in the Vizianagaram district.
“Once both the Rayalaseema integrated complexes and the 1,166-acre Vizianagaram Industrial Park are fully completed, they are projected to collectively generate over 40,000 direct and core employment positions across Andhra Pradesh,” Dr. Yuvaraj announced, commending the district administrative teams for working tirelessly to clear complex regulatory and land hurdles.
A Call for Local Skill Alignment
Concluding his address, the Industries Secretary issued a direct call to action for the local communities and educational institutions to align with the changing economic landscape. He urged the regional youth to heavily focus on acquiring technical expertise and industrial skills, ensuring that the local workforce remains the primary beneficiary of the multi-billion crore manufacturing boom.
