Sri City, AP: In a major move to establish Andhra Pradesh as India’s premier manufacturing powerhouse, Sri City is undergoing a massive 2,583-acre land expansion across Satyavedu Mandal. Supported by aggressive state-backed incentives, the multi-phase layout aims to scale the integrated business hub to 500 global companies and generate 1.5 lakh jobs by 2029.

To date, the megacity has consolidated over ₹31,450 crore in cumulative investments, anchored by major production scale-ups in the electronics, HVAC, and medical device sectors.

Carrier Global Breaks Ground on $100M High-Tech Facility

Global cooling giant Carrier Global Corporation officially broke ground on a high-tech $100 million (₹863 crore) manufacturing unit spanning 39 acres. Led by Carrier CEO David Gitlin and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, the facility is designed to address soaring domestic and global demand for energy-efficient commercial systems and AI-driven data center cooling tech. The plant is expected to generate approximately 3,000 direct and indirect regional jobs.

PG Electroplast Secures 50-Acre Plot for ₹1,000Cr Mega-Campus

Expanding its domestic footprint, PG Electroplast Limited (PGEL) acquired a 50-acre land parcel to establish a ₹1,000 crore integrated electronics campus.

The project’s first phase targets an annual production capacity of 1.2 million refrigerators by late 2026. Future phases will see the campus diversify into high-volume washing machine and air conditioning assembly lines.

Production Surges Across Electronics and Medical Sectors

Multinational manufacturers are rapidly compounding their capacity within Sri City’s specialized zones:

  • PEWIN (Panasonic): Advancing into Phase II investments, the brand is deploying automated assembly lines to multiply its high-demand switch and socket production.
  • Healthium Medtech: The healthcare player officially doubled its localized manufacturing output, expanding its precision medical device facility to meet stringent export standards.

Critical Infrastructure and Care Upgrades Greenlit

To guarantee operational stability for the specialized Japanese industrial cluster and incoming tech units, the state government has greenlit a dedicated high-capacity electrical substation to eliminate power fluctuations.

Complementing this industrial scaling, Apollo Hospitals launched an expansion of advanced, digitally connected healthcare facilities inside the integrated hub, establishing localized critical care networks for the rapidly rising industrial workforce.
