Global School Group to Invest ₹100 Crore in Amaravati Campus

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has welcomed the decision of Singapore-based Global Schools Group (GSG) to establish a campus in Amaravati, further strengthening the capital city’s emergence as a global education hub.

During his ongoing visit to Singapore, the Chief Minister met GSG Chairman Atul Temurnikar, who briefed him on the group’s plans for Amaravati. The institution will set up a campus under its flagship brand, Global Indian International School (GIIS). The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has recently allotted four acres of land to GIIS at Shakhamuru for the project.

Speaking during the meeting, Chandrababu Naidu said Amaravati is being developed as a world-class city and that quality education institutions are essential to achieving that vision. He welcomed GIIS to the capital and said the institution would provide students in Andhra Pradesh access to globally benchmarked education.

“At Amaravati, we are creating an ecosystem that nurtures innovation, talent and opportunity. The arrival of a reputed institution like GIIS will significantly enhance the city’s educational landscape,” the Chief Minister said.

Atul Temurnikar expressed confidence in Amaravati’s future and said GSG was pleased to be part of the capital city’s growth story. “We are excited to establish our campus in Amaravati and contribute to the Chief Minister’s vision of transforming the city into a hub of innovation, talent and opportunity. We will provide world-class learning facilities and academic excellence to students,” he said.

GSG plans to invest around ₹100 crore in the Amaravati campus. The group currently operates 64 campuses across 11 countries. In India, it already runs 11 GIIS campuses, with Amaravati set to become its 12th campus in the country.

The development comes close on the heels of another major international education investment in Amaravati. Recently, the UK-based Bedford School signed an agreement to establish a campus in the capital, for which CRDA allotted eight acres of land.

With leading international educational institutions choosing Amaravati for expansion, the capital is steadily positioning itself as a premier destination for global education and knowledge-driven investments.
