New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday outlined an ambitious roadmap for transforming the state into a globally competitive economy by 2047 while addressing the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting focused on the theme of “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat.”
Presenting the state government’s “Swarna Andhra @2047” vision, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh’s development strategy is closely aligned with the national goal of building a developed India by 2047. He highlighted priorities such as rapid economic growth, employment generation, infrastructure development, human capital enhancement, water and energy security, and technology-led governance.
The Chief Minister emphasised that Andhra Pradesh is leveraging technology, real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making to improve governance, transparency and service delivery. He said technology-enabled administration has helped the state attract substantial investments and improve its ease-of-doing-business ecosystem.
Naidu told the meeting that Andhra Pradesh has attracted investment proposals worth more than ₹23 lakh crore and stressed that states should focus on creating robust infrastructure, ensuring policy stability and accelerating approvals rather than relying on unsustainable incentive-based competition to attract industries.
He also highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure universal access to housing, drinking water, sanitation, electricity, digital connectivity and welfare benefits. Special emphasis was placed on healthcare, education, skill development and training in emerging technologies to prepare the workforce for future opportunities.
Naidu called for greater national attention to demographic sustainability, warning that workforce shortages and ageing populations could emerge as long-term challenges. He urged policymakers to adopt forward-looking strategies to address these issues.
Reaffirming Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to cooperative federalism, Naidu said the state would continue to work closely with the Centre and NITI Aayog to achieve the shared vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
